Story: Bottom Up & Top Down Thinking

Well known story theorist Rob Kall explores story through the dimensions and characteristics of Bottom up and Top Down thinking, brain functioning, the neurobiology of morals, and character development (including epigenetics, metaphoric filtering, hierarchy, patriarchy, morals, compassion and empathy, psychopaths, social impact), discusses “Bottom Up” story structure, and how story in film and TV has morphed in the era of Netflix, Hulu and videogames.

Rob says, “This workshop will change the way you see story. ‘Bottom Up’ thinking is one of the biggest trends in story. It’s the way humans existed and related for millions of years, the metaphoric filter through which humans experienced the world – all of which makes for powerful, well-told stories.”

Bottom Up & Top Down Thinking will add new dimensions to how you think about character development, story creation, world building and story structure.
